Welcome to Libra's User Manual. This user manual is divided into 2 sections. The first section describes daily usage of Libra, and is targeted at all general users. The second section documents the public API's that Libra uses, and is targeted at developers who are keen to extend Libra.
This documentation is work in progress, and as you can see, nothing much has been done yet :P

Reports
I have just discovered your software Libra to record my library collections and more. I absolutely love it! I have in the past recorded such information on a database. However, the amount of work required to input all the necessary information manually when you have a lot of books, as well as to insert photos, is extreme! Then during a computer crash I lost all my work!! I recorded all this information as part of some home inventory databases that I was putting together for insurance purposes. I found it very useful to be able to print out simple reports listing various information regarding my books, along with, and especially, the total replacement value of my library. I would like to make a suggestion that such reports be available on Libra.
Agree -- Programs need more flexibility
Great program, but needs more ability for User to make modifications.
I have over 3,000 DVDs that are currently in an Excel file.
In my brief use of your program. It does not seem possible for the user to modify the database with a field that User can give a name. For example, I need to add a field titled "DVD Book Numer" and then be able to simply imput the book number where I have the physical disk stores. I also need to be able to include the DVD Book Numbers in the printed output so I can have a hard copy that can be used in the Video Room. As far as I can determine, it is not possible to have the User Defined Fields included in the printed document. I would be nice if I could include the book number on the glass shelf, etc.
Thanks
Pat
Is there any chance at all
Is there any chance at all we will ever see a Mac version of Libra?

Should i be doing s something different?
Nice but missing something !
Hi to all !
I like this program very much. Graphics and design is smooth and very nicely build. Only 1 little down side to this program. It only searches amazon and when i put in a barcode or other number it won't find anything. because i live in belgium the barcodes are difrent then for example UK. I hope they fix this in the future so everyone can enjoy this program. more search options and not only amazon and reconizing dutch barcodes.
To all a good night !
Witte.
amazon
I agree, a lot of the music i listen to isn't available on amazon. I really enjoy the program but that is a limiting feature
sign up
I love the program so far. however the forums where are the responses ?? If i had seen a response I would not be sending you this. how do you become a community member? this is driving me crazy trying to figure this out. and when i click on your manual documation nothing happens.
Great concept
This is a truly fantastic concept. The lack of documentation is a killer. This came on a CD with Maximum PC. I tried it immediately but could never get it to function with my Microfiche MX-6000 web cam. Never seemed to scan anything. Any ideas or instructions would be greatly appreciated. The image seems to indicate some kind of focusing cross-hairs that never appear.
Thanks
Frank
It is quite a ying/yang experience indeed
As for the web cam, if you can see the camera image in the popup window, technically you're fine. If, however, you have a fixed-focus web cam, you're out of luck (more on this in the Web Cam FAQ (http://getlibra.com/node/46).
The lack of documentation put me off at first, too. But since I initially stumbled upon Libra and got it working on the first try (with a cheapo Hercules "Deluxe" web cam), I love it despite all its shortcomings. Frankly, it has a long way to go to be usable by non-tech folks, I think - just look at the whole weird way you select "Friends", still, if only for the massive DVD wall I can scroll through and the verrrry handy add-via-web-cam functionality - if you get it to work, that is. Which I did. Yummy!
