I have just installed Libra again after using it some time ago on another machine. I have just starting scanning my library, and have arrived at JRR Tolkien's The Lord Of The Rings. As soon as I either scan the barcode, or manually enter it and hit Enter I get a prompt saying:
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Would you like to save a diagnostic file?
I am using version 0.9.2 (Rev 2154) - downloaded today and running Windows Vista (Ultimate). The barcode is 9780007149247 and I have tried using every Amazon option. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening and how I can overcome the problem? (I'll simply type in the details for this, but I lost 45 minutes of scanning when Libra crashed the first time).
Thank you in advance!

Searching by keyword, title
Searching by keyword, title came up but got the same message when I tried adding it to Library (Mr. Bean's holiday dvd).
Problems with program crashing
I have been using Libra program for a few weeks now and have had no problems with either DVD or CD's being found via Amazon but i have just started trying to construct a book library and I have done Author, Book Title and even barcode and it crashes the program. I have now given up as there is obviously a programming fault and until they sort it out we will have to wait. Pity as it is a great program. If anyone can find a way around the problem I would be only too grateful to hear from you
other book, same problem
I have the same thing going on, but with another book. For me, it's 'Life after God' by Douglas Coupland (ISBN 068486021X; or see http://www.amazon.co.uk/Life-After-God-Douglas-Coupland/dp/068486021X/re...). Whether I scan it with my webcam or enter the ISBN, the message "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Would you like to save a diagnosic file?" always pops up for this book, but not (yet) for any other books I've tried so far. (Haven't yet tried my copy of LOTR though... ;))
I now scanned about 150
I now scanned about 150 books, and 11 of those caused the program to "stop working correctly". All of them are listed at Amazon. I own a lot of rather obscure books that all went in without a hitch (as far as they weren't in any 'exotic' language - that is, anything but English, French, German or Japanese). These 11 on the other hand, are all big sellers.
I've tried the webcam, I've tried entering the ISBN, either way the program crashes with the same error.
I tried entering some into an excel file, then importing, but even then I get that same error.
Then I tried adding the books to LibraryThing, exporting from there, and importing that file into Libra, and once again got the same error.

So I assume you have tried
So I assume you have tried to enter the pin in manually, right? If you did then export your library, uninstall/reinstall Libra, import your library and try again.
Thanks for your replies!
Thanks for your replies! Elvin6 I have done as you suggested and uninstalled/reinstalled Libra but still have the same problem.
It's not just LOTR that this happens to. There are now a few books that, no matter how I try, crash Libra consistently when I try to search Amazon for them (either via webcam search or manually entered into the search box). What information can I provide that will help sort out the problem?
Yep, this just seems to happen
I've noticed this, too---there just seem to be some ISBNs or UPCs that cause a crash. My work around is to search Amazon directly for the number, then copy/paste in the Amazon number into the Add search box. This usually works.
That hasn't worked for me at
That hasn't worked for me at all. If a book has a 10-digit ISBN then the Amazon nr is identical to that anyway. Even if I search for the title, I get the same problem!
