Some book covers are really hard to find online, some impossible(Tales of Discworld from Science Fiction Book Club). I'll have to manually scan that one myself. I managed to find the rest of them that Amazon didn't have copies of such as Dragon Charm, 1929 copy of Bambi, 1924 copy of The Burgess Animal Book For Children, Another Day Another Dungeon, and a few others so far.
It could be handy for there to be a book cover archive. People could send in scans of their book covers and post with the author and book title for easy searching.

Book Cover Art
I double clicked on the book which takes you directly to Amazon and that particular book. Look for other customers that are selling the book and see if anyone has a picture posted. I have copied the picture to my computer and then inserted it in the proper place. I also take pic's with my digital camera and post in the proper place.
I hope this helps and I hope it is not copyright infringement. Some one who knows where to look, please let all know.
Thanks. Misfit
How do I add cover art?
Misfit,
You say "I have copied the picture to my computer and then inserted it in the proper place." Where is the proper place? I have a book whose cover art didn't download in the Amazon US search. I've found a picture elsewhere on Amazon, copied the image, but I can't figure out how to attach it to the book's entry in my library. Help?

This is a good suggestion,
This is a good suggestion, except that I'm not sure about the copyright issues. The cover art for books/DVDs are copyrighted, and we'll need proper licensing to set up such an archive. Too much legal mess to get it right, unfortunately.
Really I think it would
Really I think it would constitute fair use. It would act as every other website with such pictures. Since there is no part of the story included it's basicly free advertising to the author. Pretty sure libraries do not pay book companies for donated books they borrow out.
fair use of cover art
To my understanding, cover art of any media is copyrighted material (along with the media inside of it). the owner of a particular copy of a book would be able to maintain copies of his property, but that doesn't mean he can freely distribute those copies. i doubt anyone would make a terrible fuss if cover art were compiled and allowed to be copied, FREE OF CHARGE. But if ads were charged on the site, and money was collected, someone somewhere could technically probably find some way to claim something.
I'd say the easiest thing to do is to look for the books for sale online as previously mentioned, but not just on amazon. And if people keep having specific needs, then maybe start a bulletin board where users can exchange specific cover art for any type of media.
